SYNOPSIS:<\/h4>\n

Dromology\u00a0is a site-specific performance recorded at mount Taygetos in Greece. It forms part of a series of artistic works produced at Koumaria Residency 2015 in Sellasia, Greece.<\/p>\n

Dromology is derived from the Greek \u2018dromos\u2019: avenue or race course.
\nThe theory of dromology interprets the world and reality as a resultant of velocity.<\/p>\n

In Paul Virilio\u2019s 1977 essay entitled \u201cSpeed and Politics\u201d, the french philosopher makes a compelling case for an interpretation of history, politics and society in the context of speed. Extending the definition of \u201cdromomaniacs\u201d, Virilio argues that speed became the sole agent and measure of progress.<\/p>\n

He contends, that \u201cthere was no \u2018industrial revolution\u2019, only \u2018dromocratic revolution\u2019; there is no democracy, only dromocracy; there is no strategy, only dromology.\u201d<\/p>\n
